How to host a blind photo party
Step-by-step guide to running your first Aftershot event — from creating the room to the reveal moment.

1. Create your event
Open Aftershot, tap Create Event, name the night, and set a reveal time. Most hosts pick 2–4 hours after start — enough time for everyone to shoot, not so long people forget.
2. Share the join code
Post the 6-digit code at the door, in the group chat, or on a QR printout. Guests join in seconds — no account friction beyond sign-in.
3. Set expectations
Tell people upfront: no previews, no retakes, no deleting. That's the point. The blind constraint is what makes the reveal hit.
4. Let the room shoot
Watch the live shot counter climb. Guests see who's in the room but not a single photo until reveal. Hosts can pause uploads if needed.
5. Reveal together
When the timer hits zero — or when you tap Reveal now — the gallery unlocks for everyone simultaneously. Reactions, saves, and share packs follow.
